Bowerbirds, an indie rock group from Raleigh, North Carolina, was formed in 2006 by Phil Moore and his partner Beth Tacular. The duo initially released an EP, Danger at Sea, featuring six songs with Mark Paulson contributing to the production. In 2007, Bowerbirds released their debut album Hymns for a Dark Horse, which was later reissued in 2008 by Dead Oceans Records and included additional tracks such as "La Denigracion" and "Matchstick Maker". The band supported The Mountain Goats on tour in 2007. Bowerbirds' discography includes notable songs like "Hooves", "In Our Talons", and "Human Hands".
