Author, composer and singer, Mbarga Seppo, alias Boudor or Tonton Boudor, was born in Douala, Cameroon, on January 28, 1976. He is a pioneer in the world of Cameroonian hip-hop. A committed artist, he created his own style, which he christened "noirokarisme", emphasizing the strong Cameroonian accent mixed with the polyphonic chants of the pygmies of Central Africa. Rap came to him while watching television in 1989, and with friends from his neighborhood he formed The Thunder Boys, a group in which he danced and sang. He went on to form several groups, including Mytman (1994), Noirok'r with Tabengo, and Negrissim'. On July 10, 2006, he released "En faim au Kamerun", featuring the title track "Boudor le Noirok'r". He positioned himself as a committed artist, launching the slogan " Toute vérité est bonne à dire" ("All truth is good to tell") on the release of his album. This first album will be reissued in 2017 with previously unreleased tracks, demonstrating Tonton Boudor's importance on the African rap scene. In 2011, he released the Nouvelle Page maxi, and in 2012 Rap'El, his second album. Since then, he has performed on numerous stages, featurings notably on the single "237 raisons d'être unis" in 2018. He contributes to the emergence of young artists by organizing events, including the Bled Hip Up Tour in 2023.
