Booth and the Bad Angel was a British musical project founded in 1996 by Tim Booth, lead vocalist of the alternative rock band James, and American composer Angelo Badalamenti, with Bernard Butler contributing guitar work. The collaboration originated from a 1992 television initiative that connected Tim Booth with Angelo Badalamenti, leading to a transatlantic partnership that culminated in the recording of their eponymous album Booth And The Bad Angel during late 1995 and early 1996. The album was released in July 1996 under a major label and promoted by the single "I Believe" that reached Number 25 on the UK Singles Chart. The project followed with the release of "Fall In Love With Me" in 1998, which entered the UK chart at Number 57 and was featured on the soundtrack of the film Martha, Meet Frank, Daniel and Laurence. After the album’s promotion and a few live performances, including an appearance on Later... with Jools Holland with James as the backing band, Tim Booth returned to his commitments with James, and the project remained a one‑off collaboration.
