Hailing from the birthplace of house music, Chicago, John Summit has been doing his city proud since 2017 with a string of chart-friendly house-oriented releases. Born John Schuster on 29 July 1994, the DJ and producer stepped out with his debut track âGirlâ in 2017, released on Build It Records. After building up momentum on the scene over the next few years, in 2022 he graced the Top 40 with "Sun Came Up," a collaboration with Sofi Tukker, also making waves that year with the singles âHuman"âwhich raced to number one on the US Dance Radio chartsââLa Danza,â and âDonât Forget My Love.â 2022 was a significant year for John Summit, who launched his own talked-about label Off the Grid in March. 2023 saw the release of new single "Fade Out" featuring MKLA. In 2024, he dropped his eagerly anticipated debut album Comfort in Chaos, which featured singles such as âEAT THE BASSâ and the juddering, Sub Focus and Julia Church-featuring "Go Back." The album became John Summitâs first major long-form statement, debuting at number 2 on Billboardâs Top Dance/Electronic Albums chart and number 39 on the Billboard 200, and later earning a Billboard Music Awards nomination for Top Dance/Electronic Album. In 2025, he expanded the Experts Only brand with the first Experts Only Festival in New York, held on Randallâs Island, while releasing new material and remixes including âFocusâ with CLOVES, âcrystallizedâ with Inéz, an official remix of Britney Spearsâ âI Wanna Goâ and his remix of Anyma and Ellie Gouldingâs âHypnotized.â In 2026, John Summit returned with CTRL ESCAPE, his second album, released through Experts Only and Darkroom Records. The 13-track project included âSHADES OF BLUE,â âSATA,â âWITH MEâ with Julia Wolf, âALL THE TIMEâ with The Chainsmokers and ILSÃY, âMESS W/ MEâ with Nija, âLIGHTS GO OUTâ with America Foster and âCHICA 305â with Feid, broadening his house and techno base with drum and bass, trance, Latin tech house and melodic dance-pop elements.
