Biography

Arnaud Rebotini (producer, vocals) and Ivan Smagghe (DJ) formed Black Strobe in Paris in 1997. Initially electoclash-oriented, the duo released the track "Me and Madonna" in 2002, whose theme is reminiscent of Miss Kittin's "Frank Sinatra". The track appears on the mini-album Chemical Sweet Girl in 2004. Ivan Smagghe left Black Strobe in 2006, and the duo became a group with the addition of organic musicians, undergoing a profound change of style towards industrial techno. The 2007 album Burn Your Own Church reflects this transformation. Black Strobe try their hand at electro rockabilly again with Godforsaken Roads in October 2014.
