Black Army Jacket was an American powerviolence band formed by Andrew Orlando and Carlos Ramirez. The group, which included Dan Crowell on drums, Chris Russo on bass, and Rob Lawi on lead vocals, recorded their debut demo at NYC's LoHo Studios shortly after forming. Their EP, The Path of Two Swords As One, was issued in 1998 by Chainsaw Safety Records. Following the departure of Crowell and Russo, Dave Witte joined on drums, and the band toured extensively, including performances at Milwaukee Metalfest and Fiesta Grande festival. In 1999, they released their debut album 222, which incorporated elements of death and black metal alongside hardcore. After a series of lineup changes and tours, Black Army Jacket disbanded in 1999 following a tough show in Worcester, Massachusetts.
