Born Delroy Easton McLean in Birmingham on August 8, 1972, British reggae singer, songwriter and producer "Bitty" McLean is best known for the 1993 hit "It Keeps Raining (Tears from My Eyes)". In a style blending reggae pop, lovers rock, rocksteady, dub and R&B, he began his musical career as a sound engineer for the band UB40, becoming a regular backing vocalist. His first single, a cover of Fats Domino's "It Keeps Rainin'", proved to be his biggest hit, charting at #2 in the UK and immediately followed by "Pass It On" (#35), "Here I Stand" (#10) and his version of "Dedicated to the One I Love" (#6), all included on the album Just to Let You Know..., which reached #19 in 1994. Other chart-toppers follow with "What Goes Around" (No. 36), "Over the River" (No. 27) and the Carpenters' "We've Only Just Begun" (No. 23) and "Nothing Can Change This Love" (No. 55) in 1995, then "Natural High" (No. 63) and "She's Alright " (No. 53) in 1996. In 2004, McLean recorded the album On Bond Steet in Kingston, Jamaica, released the following year, followed in 2007 by Movin' On with Sly & Robbie rhythm section. The trio tour Europe, Morocco and Japan, before returning to the studio for The Taxi Sessions (2013). After Love Restart (2018), the singer reunites with Sly & Robbie for Forward (2023).
