Bird Nest Roys were a New Zealand rock group formed in the mid-1980s in the hills west of Auckland. The band, fronted by Big Ross and Little Ross, featured future Snapper and The 3Ds member Dominic Stones on guitar. Their early releases included the highly acclaimed EP Whack It All Down (1985) and the single "Jaffa Boy" / "Bus Stop" (1986), both released under Flying Nun Records. In 1987, they released their self-titled debut album Bird Nest Roys. Despite being based in Auckland, Bird Nest Roys are frequently associated with the Dunedin sound, a musical movement named after the city of Dunedin in the South Island of New Zealand. The band's unique ensemble and coded language attracted an eclectic following. In 2013, a compilation album titled Me Want Me Get Me Need Me Have Me Love was released, compiling all their recorded work.
