Big City Rock (formed 2001, in Los Angeles) was an American power pop ensemble. The group was founded by Nate Bott, Frank Staniszewski, Jeff Conrad, and Timothy Resudek, who previously performed in the band The Siren Six!. After Conrad joined Phantom Planet in 2003, he was replaced by drummer Kaumyar, followed by the addition of guitarist Andrew Barr in 2004. The ensemble signed to Atlantic Records and released the self-titled debut album Big City Rock (2006). The recording received a 3.5-star review from Blender, which placed the song "All of the Above" at number 10 on its annual Top 100 Singles chart. Career milestones included a cover of "Black Betty" for the film TMNT (2007) and a 2006 tour supporting acts such as Morningwood and Head Automatica. Following member changes involving Resudek and Barr, the remaining members including bassist Jason Lautenschleger became inactive in 2008 and formed the group The Remainers.
