Biography

Barbara & Dick, an Argentine musical duo, was formed in 1965 by Barbara Virginia Bourse and Fernando Sustaita. Their breakthrough came at the 1st Festival of the Song of Mar del Plata in February 1966. The duo's first album, Barbara Y Dick, was released that year under RCA Argentina. Their most notable song, "El funeral del labrador" (1966), became a hit in multiple languages. Barbara & Dick received two Gold Disc awards for their high-selling singles and albums. They toured extensively across Latin America and Europe before disbanding after the 1969 Viña del Mar Festival. The duo reunited in 1971 and continued to release music, including children's songs and television appearances but disbanded again in 1998. Fernando Sustaita, known as Dick, passed away on July 29, 2006, from throat cancer.
