Biography

The Ballas Hough Band was an American pop rock group fronted by Mark Ballas and Derek Hough. The band’s other members were Sam Marder, Harry Sullivan, and Emily Grace. Prior to forming the band, Ballas and Hough met as teenagers while living in London and later competed as professional dancers on Dancing with the Stars. They released their self-titled debut album in 2009, via Hollywood Records, which peaked at number 98 on the U.S. Billboard 200. The band performed “Move” on Dancing with the Stars in November 2009 as the lead single for a planned second album, but they left Hollywood Records in 2010 and did not release another album. Following the disbandment, Mark Ballas pursued a solo music career and Broadway performances, while Derek Hough continued his career in dance and television.
