Bagad ar Meilhou Glaz, a traditional Breton music ensemble, was founded in 1951 in Quimper, France. The group was initiated by Léon Goraguer, Jos Cadiou, and Pierre Pulvé, who formed the ensemble with students from an elementary school. Bagad ar Meilhou Glaz began performing publicly in 1952 and initially released a series of five 45 rpm records through Mouez Breiz. The group evolved significantly under the leadership of Pierre Pulvé until the early 1980s before Yves Salvy took over. In 1982, they entered the national bagad championship, progressing through categories to reach the first category in 1995. Notable achievements include winning the Roñsed-Mor trophies for bombards and percussion in 1994, 1995, and 1996, as well as releasing albums such as Spered Fest (1996) and Steir'tijenn (2002). The ensemble has performed at major festivals including the Francofolies de La Rochelle and Les Vieilles Charrues.
