Azu, born on December 8, 1981, in Tsu, is a Japanese R&B singer. She began her career at age 16, working in the Tokyo club scene. Azu's stage name reflects her artistic philosophy of conveying memories from A to Z. Her breakthrough came in 2005 when she collaborated with rapper Seamo, initially as a background vocalist and later as a featured artist on his second album Live Goes On, with the lead single "Kokoro no Koe". Azu debuted as a solo artist in 2007 with the single "Cherish", which served as the ending theme for the xxxHolic Shunmuki original video animation series. Her subsequent releases included collaborations with Seamo, such as "Jikan yo Tomare" from her mini-album æéãæ¢ã¾ã, used as the second ending in the Itazura na Kiss anime series. Her album releases include As One (2009), Two of Us (2010), and Love Letter (2012). Notable singles include "For You", used as the 12th ending theme for Naruto Shippuden, and "In My Life" for Yorinuki Gintama-san. Azu also composed "Akatsuki no Hana" for Akatsuki no Yona.
