The Australian Brandenburg Orchestra, founded as a period instrument orchestra in 1989 by Paul Dyer and Bruce Applebaum, specializes in baroque and classical music. The ensemble began its journey with a concert at the Sydney Opera House in January 1990. Their debut album, Vivaldi: Il Flauto Dolce, was released in 2001. Since then, they have released notable albums such as Noël! Noël! Christmas with the Australian Brandenburg Orchestra (2002) and Sanctuary (2005). The orchestra has performed with internationally acclaimed artists including Andreas Scholl and Emma Kirkby, and regularly appears in major concert halls across Australia. Their annual Noël! Noël! Christmas concert series features traditional carols like "O Come All Ye Faithful" and "Stille Nacht." Paul Dyer was appointed an Officer of the Order of Australia in 2013 for his contributions to orchestral music and educational programs, highlighting the orchestra's significant cultural impact.
