Auletta is a German popârock group formed in Mainz in 2005, named after the Italian town visited by its founding members during a summer holiday in 2006. The core lineup, established after the return of Alexander Zwick and Martin Kloos from stays in England and Spain, began performing in 2007 alongside acts such as Art Brut and the Kilians, and reached the Central Europe final of the Emergenza competition that same year, subsequently winning the Rockbuster contest. In late 2008 the band secured a contract with EMI, leading to the release of the debut album Pöbelei & Poesie on 26â¯Juneâ¯2009; the single "Meine Stadt" from that album was featured in the video game FIFAâ¯10. The following year the group represented RhinelandâPalatinate at the Bundesvision Song Contest, placing fourteenth out of sixteen. Their second studio album, Make Love Work, was issued on 12â¯Augustâ¯2011 and entered the German charts at position 36 in the Topâ¯50. In Octoberâ¯2018 the band announced via social media that a third album would be selfâproduced and funded through a successful crowdfunding campaign. The discography continues with the 2019 release Auletta, completing the groupâs catalog of four studio albums and several EPs and singles.
