Kim Beomsoo, known professionally as Astro Bits, was born on April 7, 1970, in Seoul, South Korea, and emerged as a multifaceted K-pop artist, working as a composer, arranger, producer, sound engineer, and vocalist. Growing up in Seoulâs music scene, he honed his craft by studying traditional Korean instruments before transitioning to electronic music production in his early twenties. Astro Bits entered the industry with a series of self-produced demos that attracted the attention of a local indie label, leading to his first releases in the late 1990s. Over the following decade, he collaborated with several emerging K-pop acts, contributed arrangements to chart-topping singles, and provided production work for televised music competitions. His discography includes the album Astro Bits (2005), the single "Astro Bits 2009 Single" (2009), and the album Bits of Universe (2011). Although he never achieved mainstream commercial dominance, his behind-the-scenes influence earned him respect among peers and a reputation for meticulous sound design within the Korean music community.
