Astrid Seriese, born on February 26, 1957, in The Hague, Netherlands, is a Dutch jazz singer, actress, and singing teacher. She began her musical journey with piano and singing lessons during her childhood. In 1978, she moved to Amsterdam to study at the Amsterdam Conservatory and the Academy of Cabaret. Seriese's breakthrough came in 1983 when she joined Nedly Elstak's band Seven Singers and a Horn. In 1985, she participated in the Knokke Songfestival with Julya Lo'Ko and Mathilde Santing, winning first prize. Her debut album Eclipse was released in 1993, which featured songs ranging from Kurt Weill to Tom Waits, and was followed by albums such as Secret World in 1994 and Into Temptation in 1996. In 2018, she released Blues & Poetry with Erwin van Ligten.
