When they debuted in 2013, French duo As Animals nurtured the mystery that surrounded them. Little is known about Fred and Zara, who prefer to concentrate on their soul-influenced electro pop. As Animals raised the tension in May 2013 with the video for "I See Ghost (Ghost Gunfighters)", directed by Maxime Bruneel. The song was also picked up by radio stations, and its heady melody reached the top of the French charts in July 2013. The duo's debut album, of the same name, is greeted with a salvo of positive mentions on its release in January 2014, opening an international door for As Animals.
