Biography

Formed by Ed Durocher in 2016, Apollo Suns is a Winnipeg-based instrumental ensemble blending jazz, rock, and psychedelic elements. They've released EPs like Each Day a Different Sun (2017), Dawn Offerings (2019), and A Relationship of Force (2021), achieving "Instrumental Artist of the Year" at the Western Canadian Music Awards twice. Their lineup includes Ed Durocher on guitar, Tim Iskierski on drums, Erika Einarson on percussion, Bryn Herperger on bass, Garrett Malenko on trumpet, Benjamin James Hill on trombone, Aaron Bartel on baritone saxophone, and Anatol Rennie on keyboards and synthesizer. Their newest album, Departures (2022), was produced by Ben Kaplan.
