John De Buck, known professionally as Apashe, was born on 9 May 1992 in the City of Brussels, Belgium, and works as a producer of electronic music. He moved to Canada at nineteen, studied electroacoustics at Concordia University, and began his career as a sound designer for Apollo Studio, contributing to video‑game soundtracks such as Assassin’s Creed and Watch Dogs. Apashe’s breakthrough came in 2011 with the release of the single "Machines Should Work" under Kannibalen Records. He followed with the EP Contamination in 2012 and the album Antagonist in 2023, each expanding his blend of electronic and classical elements. Notable tracks include "No Twerk", "Golden Empire", and "Requiem", the latter earning GAMIQ’s Electronic EP of the Year in 2018. Collaborations span artists such as Tech N9ne, Alina Pash, and Dabin, and his music has featured in trailers for John Wick, Iron Fist, and Fast & Furious. Apashe’s 2020 album Renaissance incorporated a 69‑instrument Prague Symphony Orchestra, while his 2026 release with Alina Pash, Hymns Of Resilience, continued his exploration of majestic soundscapes.
