Arkells, a Canadian rock band formed in Hamilton, Ontario, emerged from a collective of McMaster University students, including lead vocalist Max Kerman, guitarist Mike DeAngelis, bassist Nick Dika, drummer Tim Oxford, and keyboardist Anthony Carone. Their breakthrough came with the 2008 single "Oh, The Boss Is Coming!" and the debut album Jackson Square, released on Dine Alone Records. Subsequent releases-Michigan Left (2011), High Noon (2014), Morning Report (2016), Rally Cry (2018), Blink Once (2021), Blink Twice (2022), Laundry Pile (2023), Disco Loadout, Volume 1 (2024), and Between Us (2026)-showed a steady evolution, each accompanied by extensive touring across Canada, the United States, and Europe. The band earned multiple Juno nominations, winning Rock Album of the Year for High Noon (2015) and Rally Cry (2019), and Group of the Year in 2012, 2015, and 2017. Their singles "Knocking at the Door" and "Reckoning" achieved chart success, while collaborations with artists such as K.Flay, Cold War Kids, and Tegan and Sara broadened their reach. Arkells continued to release music and perform community‑focused events, maintaining a prominent position in contemporary Canadian rock.
