Award winning singer, songwriter, arranger, producer, and musical director Anthony Lun was born in Hong Kong on April 12, 1956. He is one of the most celebrated and honored musical artists from his home country and has recorded songs in several different languages including Cantonese, Mandarin, English, and Japanese. After graduating from La Salle College (Hong Kong), Santa Clara University (California), and the University of Michigan, he released his debut album, Anthony Lunâs Composition Collection, in 1986. He came to prominence that year by winning the ABU Popular Song Contest with his song âLyrics.â The song also earned him several awards in 1987: Radio Hong Kongâs Most Outstanding New Artist and Radio Television Hong Kongâs Most Creative Pop Song of the year. He then went on to compose over 300 songs â 42 of them reaching Number 1 â for a variety of artists including Faye Wong, Jackie Chan, Andy Lau, Sandy Lam, Cass Phang, Alex To, Elisa Chan, Anita Mui, and many others. During this period, he was honored with many more awards: Radio Hong Kongâs Song of the Year (âRed Hot Lipsâ) in 1988; Radio Hong Kongâs Best Arranger of the Year and Best Composer of the Year (âBurnâ) in 1990: Best Male Vocalist of the Year, Best Movie Theme (âAu Revoir, Mon Amourâ); Gold Award (âGoodbye My Loveâ), and Most Performed Work on Radio, Most Performed Work, Best Producer of the Year, Best Composer of the Year, and Best Song of the Year for âHeart is Still Coldâ in 1991; Most Performed Song of the Year (âGirodanoâ) in 1991; Best Original Music for the Stage (âScent of the Resurrectionâ) in 2003; Best Duet (âWrite Too Muchâ with Juno Mak) in 2008, and Lifetime Achievement Award from the CASH Hall of Fame in 2013. Anthony Lun has worked on many hit albums by a variety of artists - including Anita Muiâs Zhui Yi Shi Shui Fang Hua (2014) â alongside several solo releases.
