Biography

Another Sunny Day was an indie pop solo project initiated by Harvey Williams, born in Newlyn, Cornwall, England. The project began while Williams was studying at Plymouth Polytechnic in 1986. His first release under the Another Sunny Day name was the "Anorak City" flexi-disc in April 1988, which came with the Are You Scared to Get Happy? fanzine and was named Single of the Week by NME. His debut single proper, "I'm in Love with a Girl Who Doesn't Know I Exist," was released two months later and also received Single of the Week honors. Following a move to London in early 1989, Williams released several more singles, including "What's Happened?", "You Should All Be Murdered," and a limited 7-inch featuring a cover of Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark's "Genetic Engineering." While Williams recorded alone, friends joined him for live performances. His only album, London Weekend, was released in 1992. Another Sunny Day disbanded shortly after, with Williams later joining Blueboy, recording under his own name, and collaborating with bands such as The Field Mice and The Hit Parade. Cherry Red Records reissued London Weekend in August 2009, including six additional tracks.
