Biography

Angine de Poitrine, an experimental rock duo from Saguenay, Quebec, was formed in 2019 by the musicians Khn de Poitrine and Klek de Poitrine; the pair first met as teenagers and initially used oversized papier‑mâché masks and stylized costumes as a joke before developing a distinctive visual identity. Their breakthrough came with the single "Sherpa" in 2024, followed by the debut album Vol. 1 on 9 June 2024, which showcased microtonal instruments, complex rhythms, and instrumental compositions. The duo gained wider recognition after a 2026 KEXP live session went viral, leading to international festival appearances, the release of single "Fabienk" in February of 2026. Their sophomore album Vol. II, released in April 2026, reached number 11 on Canadian Albums Chart and number 44 on the US Billboard 200.
