Angine de Poitrine, an experimental rock duo from Saguenay, Quebec, was formed in 2019 by the musicians Khn de Poitrine and Klek de Poitrine; the pair first met as teenagers and initially used oversized papierâmâché masks and stylized costumes as a joke before developing a distinctive visual identity. Their breakthrough came with the single "Sherpa" in 2024, followed by the debut album Vol.â¯1 on 9â¯Juneâ¯2024, which showcased microtonal instruments, complex rhythms, and instrumental compositions. The duo gained wider recognition after a 2026 KEXP live session went viral, leading to international festival appearances, the release of single "Fabienk" in February of 2026. Their sophomore album Vol.â¯II, released in Aprilâ¯2026, reached number 11 on Canadian Albums Chart and number 44 on the US Billboard 200.
