Andrew Conrad De Silva was born on 23 November 1974 in Melbourne, Australia, and is a soul singer of Sri Lankan descent. He first gained prominence as a founding member of the popâdance group CDB, formed with Brad and Gary Pinto, and released two studio albums between 1991 and 1999, earning an ARIA Music Award before the band disbanded. After a hiatus for cancer treatment, De Silva returned to the music scene with the solo single "Just Like Good Music" in 2005, which peaked at number 33 on the ARIA Charts. In 2012 he auditioned for and won season six of Australia's Got Talent, securing a $250,000 prize and national recognition. That same year he released the single "Your Paradise" (10 December 2012) and later "Miracle" (31 May 2013). De Silva served as a support act for Mariah Carey in 2013, and in 2014 released the EP Now That I Believe. He joined the established band Boom Crash Opera as lead vocalist in 2016 and organized the Purple Revolution: A Tribute To Prince tour. His career has been marked by chart successes, award recognitions-including the Sri Lankan Association of Australia Media & Entertainment Award in 2014.
