Andrés Falgás, born on January 15, 1916, in Caballito, Buenos Aires, Argentina, was a singer known for his contributions to tango music. He began his career by participating in a radio contest in 1933, where he finished as the runner-up. His first recording, "Pena de amor" and "Cofrecito", was released on May 5, 1936, under the Odeón label. Falgás collaborated with various orchestras, including those led by Federico Scorticati, Enrique RodrÃguez, and Juan Canaro, with whom he toured extensively across Latin America in the late 1930s and early 1940s. He also composed "Cielo" with Mario Landi in 1939. In 1942, Falgás starred in the Mexican film Dos corazones y un tango, further solidifying his reputation as a notable tango singer. Throughout his career, he released over 130 recordings and performed internationally until his death on May 15, 1995.
