Alvarez Kings, an English indiepop band from South Yorkshire, began forming around 2011 with brothers Simon and Paul Thompson. The bandâs lineup solidified in 2013 when Richard Walker and Aidan Thompson joined following the departure of two original members. They gained early attention touring on the Vans Warped Tour and were profiled on Fuse TVâs Warped Roadies. Their song âNo Resolveâ was named Single of the Year by BBC Radio Sheffield in 2013. In 2015, Alvarez Kings signed to Sire Records and released their first EP, Fear to Feel, in June. That year, they toured with Echosmith and joined the Warped Tour again. In April 2016, they went on a short UK tour with PVRIS and K. Flay and also opened for Melanie Martinez on her Cry Baby Tour in North America and Europe. Their debut album, Somewhere Between, was released in April 2017, produced by Carlos de la Garza. The album was supported by headline tours across the US, Europe, and the UK. Following Sean Parkin's departure, Aidan Thompson joined the band after contributing to their single âGet Up and Move On.â
