Almazian Pop Symphony is the project of Armenian violinist Khachatur Almazian. In addition to a career as a classical concert performer, he and Serbian cellist Tamara Savic conceived the idea of a female symphony orchestra playing pop songs. Their meeting in 2008 with Emir Kusturica accelerated the concept, which led to the signing of Almazian Pop Symphony to Sony - BMG. Formed by nineteen talented and beautiful young women, Almazian Pop Symphony released the album of the same name in January 2013, which made an appearance on the SNEP chart in February 2013.
