Biography
Alma-Sofia Miettinen, born January 17, 1996 in Kuopio, Finland, is a Finnish singer and songwriter. Known by her stage name Alma, she first gained attention in 2013 when she came fifth in the seventh season of Idols, the Finnish version of Pop Idol. Her musical breakthrough came in 2016 with the single "Karma", which reached number 5 in the Finnish singles charts. In the same year, she released the EP Dye My Hair, whose track of the same name was also successful. the single "Chasing Highs" followed in 2017 , attracting international attention and reaching the top 20 in Germany and the UK. Alma works in the pop genre and collaborates with artists such as Charli XCX, Tove Lo and Miley Cyrus. Her debut album Have U Seen Her? will be released in 2020, followed by Time Machine in 2023. She has received several awards for her work, including the European Border Breakers Award in 2018 and the MTV Europe Music Award for Best Finnish Act in 2017.
