Biography

Allan R. Vaché, born Allan Vache on December 16, 1953, in Rahway, New Jersey, is an American clarinetist known for his work in mainstream jazz and swing. He began his career collaborating with figures like Bobby Hackett and Lionel Hampton. After studying at Jersey City State College from 1971 to 1975, Vaché joined the Jim Cullum Jazz Band in San Antonio, Texas, touring and recording extensively until 1992. He then worked as a freelance musician, performing at various jazz parties and festivals. In 1993, Vaché relocated to Orlando, Florida. Throughout his career, he released several albums under labels such as Audiophile, Jazzology, and Arbors Jazz, collaborating with artists including Warren Vaché Jr., Bob Haggart, Bucky Pizzarelli, and John Bunch. Notable releases include Jazz Moods (1983), High Speed Swing (1983), and With Benny in Mind (2006).
