æ±å©§, known professionally as Akini Jing, was born on 18 April 1988 in Yunnan, China, and is a singer, songwriter and music producer of Dai ethnicity. After early training in traditional music, she debuted with the EP She in 2013, releasing the single "èå" that same year. Her first studio album, 她, followed on 25 November 2013, establishing her presence in the Mandopop and dreamâpop scenes. In September 2014 she issued 以梦为马, a concept album that expanded her artistic scope. The year 2018 marked a milestone when her single "Shadow" entered the Billboard Dance Club Chart Top 40, making her the first Chinese artist to achieve that placement. In 2019 she adopted the moniker Akini Jing and released the single "The Last of Human". The 2020 album å¡è 天å was released under her own label. She followed with æ°¸æ æ¢å¢çåå« in 2022, featuring tracks such as "ç¥ç¦" and "é叏夿¥". In January 2024 she released Villain, continuing her exploration of electronic and dreamâpop sounds. Akini Jing has maintained a steady output of singles, including "Pump Up, Call Me Shadow, Black Widow" (2023) and "Hurt You Again" (2024), while signing with 88rising in March 2023, which broadened her international reach. Her career is marked by consistent chart performances and a growing influence within contemporary Chinese pop and electronic music.
