Biography

Born in Pithiviers (Loiret) on May 5, 1986, violinist and violist Théo Ceccaldi received classical training before venturing into avant-garde jazz. He won first prize for violin, composition and chamber music in 2004, and six years later formed the Théo Ceccaldi Trio with his brother Valentin Ceccaldi on cello and Guillaume Aknine on guitar. A member of Tricollectif and the Orchestre national de Jazz under the direction of Olivier Benoît from 2014 to 2018, he has collaborated on numerous recording projects alongside Joëlle Léandre, Roberto Negro, Quatuor IXI, Deux Maisons, In Love With, Andy Emler, Daniel Erdmann's Velvet Revolution, Chamber 4, Qöölp, le Grand Orchestre du Tricot, Hans Lüdemann Transeuropeexpress, Fred Pallem & Le Sacre du Tympan, Band of Dogs, Laurent Bardainne & Tigre d'Eau Douce and Kutu. He produced the albums La Scala (2014), Petite Moutarde (2015), Babies (2015), Amanda Dakota with the Freaks ensemble (2018), Montevago (2019) and Constantine with his brother Valentin Ceccaldi (2020). In 2025, the two reunite with clarinettist Yom for the album Le Rythme du Silence.
