Asa "Ace" Harris, also known as Ace Harris, born on April 1, 1910, in New York City, was an American pianist, singer, arranger, and bandleader known for his contributions to blues and jazz. He began playing piano as a child and performed with various territory bands during the 1930s. In 1937, Ace Harris took over leadership of Bill Mears' Sunset Royal Serenaders, recording titles such as "Hurly Burly" and "Rhythm 'Bout Town". He moved to New York in 1939 and collaborated with Hot Lips Page before joining the Erskine Hawkins Orchestra. With Hawkins, he contributed to hits like "Caldonia" (number 2 on the R&B charts in 1945). Ace Harris also recorded under his own name for labels such as Hub, Sterling, and Coral. In 1953, he moved to Chicago and performed as a soloist until his death on June 11, 1964.
