Biography
Academic BANANA is a Japanese neo-song band, formed in December 2017, at the same time launching their own label, MOTHERSMILK RECORD, to begin their activities. The two members are Tomoki Saito and Kenta Hagiwara; they debuted with their first EP "Tokyo" in June 2018. At the end of the same year, they released a split EP "ESCAPE" with singer-songwriter Taro Kobayashi, who also started the label. 5 singles including "White" and "Coffee" were released for distribution in 2019, and "Can't Stop the Sun" and "Silent Love" will be released in 2020. In February 2021, he released a STUDIO LIVE CD, "BANANA JAM"; in June 2022, the label's activities ended, and he subsequently established the joint venture Thunderbolt; in August, he released his first album, "SEASON"; in February 2023, he released an EP, "Company Song"; and in October, his second album, "L'Luna", In October, they released their second album "Love Letter", followed by the EP "BLUE JEANS" on August 26, 2024.
