A Man Called Adam is the British electronic duo composed of Sally Rodgers and Steve Jones. Their early involvement in the acid jazz and Balearic house scenes led to a breakthrough with the remixed Bâsides "Techno Powers" and "Amoeba" on Gilles Petersonâs Acid Jazz Records, establishing a cult following. In 1991 they released their debut album The Apple under Big Life Records, followed by the 1998 album Duende and the 2004 compilation All My Favourite⦠on Southern Fried. After founding their own label, Other Records, they issued Collected Works, Vol. 1 (2014) and Vol. 2 (2014), alongside the 2019 album Farmarama, which received positive reviews for its contemporary take on their acid jazz roots. Throughout their career, Rodgers and Jones contributed to the Café del Mar compilations, produced the side project Beachflea, and compiled High in a Basement for Heavenly Records. They have also worked as sound designers for museum and film projects, including the British Music Experience and the British Museumâs Journey to the Afterlife exhibition. Their discography spans multiple genres, and they continue to perform as DJs at clubs and festivals worldwide.
