12012, a Japanese rock band formed in Osaka on May 1, 2003, focused their work around the concept of "the madness within a human being." The group's name is derived from California's penal code for possession of dangerous weapons. Led by vocalist Miyawaki Wataru, who wrote all the lyrics, 12012 began their activities under Under Code Production, releasing their first single "depression sign" in July 2003. In October 2004, they held a six-day event called Guilty of Six Days, which featured other bands like Duel Jewel and Panic Channel. In 2007, 12012 changed labels to Back Coat and Universal Music Japan. They contributed the theme song "Cyclone" for the anime series Romeo à Juliet. However, later that year, vocalist Miyawaki Wataru was arrested for assaulting a woman, though charges were eventually dropped. Despite this controversy, the band continued with releases like the album DIAMOND in December 2007 and mar maroon in March 2009. In July 2010, they released their final studio album SEVEN, marking a significant milestone before guitarist Yusuke Suga left the band in December of that year. The remaining members decided to continue as a quartet, expressing gratitude for their fans' support and announcing a new chapter for the group.
