Zentrifugal, also known as Z-Fu, was a German hip-hop group from Bremen consisting of Bas Böttcher and DJ Loris Negro. The duo met in the early 1990s while attending the same high school in Bremen and bonded over their shared interest in vintage vinyl records. They decided to create unique, experimental music that blended street culture with poetry. In 1994, Zentrifugal won a local competition in Bremen, which provided them with studio time for their debut single Dichtung und Wahrheit. Their first album, Poesiealbum, was released in 1996 under the Indigo label. The group's second album, Tat oder Wahrheit, was released in 1999 by Jive Records, showcasing a fusion of jazz, reggae, and meditative music with poetic rap. Zentrifugal disbanded in 2001.
