Biography

Zagrebački Solisti, a chamber ensemble, was founded in Zagreb, Croatia, in 1953 under the artistic leadership of Italian cellist and conductor Antonio Janigro. The ensemble was established through the auspices of Croatian Radiotelevision. After Janigro's departure in 1968, Dragutin Hrdjok took over as concertmaster, followed by Tonko Ninić as artistic director and concertmaster. The orchestra has performed over 3,500 concerts worldwide and is known for numerous recordings.
