Ullrich Böhme, born in February 22, 1956 in Rodewisch, Germany, is a German organist. He began playing the organ at church services at age 13 and studied at the Church Music School in Dresden and the Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy Academy of Music in Leipzig. Böhme served as cantor and organist at the Church of the Holy Cross in Karl-Marx-Stadt (now Chemnitz) until 1986. In 1985, he was appointed organist of the St. Thomas Church in Leipzig, a position he held until his retirement in November 2021. Böhme also served as an honorary professor of organ at the Institute of Church Music at the Leipzig University of Music and Theatre. His discography includes albums such as Orgelbüchlein (2007) and Bach: GroÃe Präludien Und Fugen (2020).
