Yes McCan, real name Jean-François Ruel, is a rapper and actor born November 16, 1989 in Granby, Quebec, Canada. He first made a name for himself on the WordUP! Battles circuit at the turn of the first decade of the 2000s. That's where he met some of the future members of Dead Obies. Formed in 2011, Dead Obies quickly attracted attention with their original rap style, fusing English and French in their lyrics. In 2017, they released an EP entitled PS. Merci pour le love. Yes McCan left Dead Obies in 2018 to pursue a solo career. That same year, he released his debut solo album OUI (tout, tout, tout, toutttte). In addition to his musical career, Yes McCan is also an actor. In 2018, he starred in the TV series Fugueuse. In 2021, he released the single " 4 Freestyle Remix" with rappers MikeZup and Shreez.
