Biography

Gerson Rufino is a Brazilian gospel singer from Navegantes, Santa Catarina, who began singing at 14 and went on to build a career that blends pentecostal praise with sertanejo-inflected gospel. Apple Music’s editorial biography credits Volta Pra Mim as his first album in 1997, and over the following years he became closely associated with songs such as “Dia de Sol,” “Vai Passar,” and later “Eu Só Quero Adorar.” His 2011 album Não Preciso de Licença helped establish one of the defining songs in his catalog, and he followed it with albums including Sobrevivi (2013), O Amor de Deus (2016), 10 Anos de Louvor (2016), Homem Invisível (2018), and Hora da Vitória (2019). Around that period he was also recognized with the Prêmio Promessas, while Apple Music’s editorial notes state that Hora da Vitória received three Latin Grammy nominations in 2020. In 2021 he began a new phase with Maximus Records, which reintroduced “Dia de Sol” in a new version, and he remained active through projects such as Live In Church (2020), Rufino e Barony (Ao Vivo) with Anderson Barony (2022), Jesus e Eu (2023), and Grito Aflito (2025). His output has continued at a fast pace with 2026 releases including Conta pra Mim, Réplica, and the single “Vida Nova.”
