Jung Whee-in (April 17, 1995), known professionally as Wheein, is a South Korean singer who jumped to fame as one of the lead vocalists of the girl group Mamamoo. Born in the city of Jeonju, she made her official debut on the bandâs first single âMr. Ambiguousâ (2014), and also appeared on their first studio effort Melting (2016), which reached Number 2 on the Gaon Albums Chart. In 2018, Wheeinâs first solo single âEasyâ climbed to Number 36 on the domestic singles chart, followed by 2019âs Soar, a two-track mini-album that peaked at Number 4 in South Korea and sold over 23,000 copies. Redd, her debut EP, saw the light in 2021 and became her second release to land inside the Korean Top 10, bowing at Number 7 on the Gaon charts. That same year, Wheein signed with Raviâs The L1ve label after deciding not to renew her exclusive contract with Mamamooâs label RBW. Preceded by the single âMake Me Happy,â her second extended play Whee arrived in 2022 and went to Number 4 in South Korea.
