Wayne Newton, born Carson Wayne Newton on 3 April 1942, in Norfolk, Virginia, is a renowned American singer and entertainer. He began playing piano, guitar, and steel guitar at the age of six, displaying perfect pitch. By his teenage years, he was performing in local shows and with his brother, Jerry Newton. In 1958, while still a high school student, he secured a two-week contract to perform in Las Vegas at the Fremont Hotel. Wayne Newton's career began taking off when he signed with Capitol Records in 1963. His debut album Danke Schoen and its title track were released that year. "Danke Schoen" became his trademark tune and reached number 13 on the Hot 100 chart. By the mid-1960s, he had established himself in Las Vegas, headlining at various venues, including the Flamingo Hotel from 1963 onwards. He released several notable albums throughout his career, including "Now!" (1966), "Dreams of The Everyday Housewife" And "Town & Country" (1968), and "Can't You Hear The Song?" (1972). His other popular songs include "Summer Wind", "Red Roses for a Blue Lady", and "Years".
