The Viel-Harmoniker are a German vocal ensemble that was founded in Munich in 1976. The group was formed on the initiative of composer and pianist Gert Wilden (* April 15, 1917 in Mährisch-Trübau; â September 10, 2015 in Tutzing), who accompanied the ensemble on the piano and worked stylistically in the style of the Comedian Harmonists. The original members were Toni Rosner, Siegfried Hussner, Alo Schnurrer, Wolfgang Schultz and Walter Leykauf; after Walter Leykauf left, Günther Graf took on the role of second baritone and remained an integral part of the ensemble until its dissolution. The Viel-Harmoniker are active in the genre of Schlager and vocal ensembles with nostalgic references. Their repertoire includes new arrangements of well-known songs from the 1920s and 1930s as well as modern hits in the style of past decades. The group performs in tails and top hats and appears on radio and television programs, including the entertainment show Zum Blauen Bock, and gives numerous concerts in Europe, China and South America. Among the long-playing records released is Hochgenuà und Nostalgie (1976), which reaches the German album charts in 1977 and reaches number 35. Further albums were released in the following years, including Sechszylinder (1977), Live In Concert, Vol. 1 (2007) and Live In Concert, Vol. 2 (2007). The Viel-Harmoniker released a total of around 18 long-playing records, reflecting their characteristic vocal arrangements. Well-known titles by the group include classics such as "Wochenend und Sonnenschein", "Veronika, der Lenz ist da", "Ein Freund, ein guter Freund" and "Ich wollt' ich wär' ein Huhn", which are regularly heard in their style-defining concerts and characterize their nostalgic sound.
