Biography

Veil of Maya, an American metalcore band, was formed in Chicago, Illinois, in 2004. The band released their debut album, All Things Set Aside, in 2006 through Corrosive Recordings. In January 2008, Veil of Maya signed with Sumerian Records and released their second album, The Common Man's Collapse. The band underwent several lineup changes before releasing [Id] in 2010, which reached number 107 on the Billboard 200. In 2012, they released Eclipse, produced by Periphery guitarist Misha Mansoor. Following the departure of vocalist Brandon Butler in 2014, Lukas Magyar joined as the new vocalist, and the band released Matriarch in May 2015. Their subsequent album, False Idol, was released in 2017. In 2023, Veil of Maya released their seventh studio album [M]other.
