Biography

Mulu, a British trip‑hop duo, comprised vocalist Laura Campbell and producer Alan Edmunds. The pair first attracted attention with the 1997 single "Filmstar" and the follow‑up "Pussycat", the latter named Record of the Week on Mark and Lard’s BBC Radio One show and reaching number 50 on the UK Singles Chart. Their debut album Smiles Like A Shark was released on 4 August 1997, featuring the tracks "Filmstar", "Pussycat", and "Desire". The duo’s work was noted for its blend of electronic textures and atmospheric vocals, and their single "Pussycat" was accompanied by a music video starring actor Paul Reynolds. After the album’s release, Mulu continued to collaborate with prominent remixers and appeared on several electronic music compilations before disbanding in the late 1990s.
