Kwon Soon-young (born June 15, 1996, in Namyangju, Gyeonggi Province, South Korea), professionally known as Hoshi, is a South Korean singer and dancer. Joining Pledis Entertainment in late 2011, Hoshi trained for the next four years, appearing on Seventeen TV, an online reality show that introduced Pledis' trainees and showcased potential members of the boy group Seventeen before their official debut. On May 29, 2015, Hoshi debuted as an official member of the group with the extended play 17 Carat, forming sub-unit BSS alongside members Seungkwan and DK, three years later. The trio released their debut single "Just Do It" on March 21, 2018 which charted in the Top 200 and on April 2, 2021, Hoshi released his first solo single, Spider, which reached number 5 on the US Billboard World Charts. He returned in March 2024 with âGoddess of Despairâ from the collaborative soundtrack ASTRA: Knights of Veda.
