Biography
Muhammad Arfiza Shahab, known as Umay Shahab, was born on February 16, 2001, in Makasar, East Jakarta, Indonesia. A versatile performer from a young age, Shahab became involved in acting, singing, presenting, and modelling, gaining notoriety with roles in TV series Wulan and Eneng dan Kaos Kaki Ajaib (Eneng and Magic Socks), releasing his first album Umay in 2010, which became a hit with over 250 thousand copies sold, earning him the AMI Award for Best Children Album. Shahab followed this with Pesta Sekolah, the following year, earning him the AMI Award for Best Children Male Solo Artist. After a hiatus from the music industry, Shahab returned in 2014 with Indo-pop single "Happy Family", followed by two tracks in 2018: âSudahlahâ and âLuka Semestaâ, as well as âBehind the Cloudsâ in 2021. In 2023, Shahab released his debut EP When It All Ends HERE with lead single âPerayaan Mati Rasaâ (feat. Natania Karin) charting at number 129.
