Biography

Tragedy, a hardcore punk band from Memphis, Tennessee, was formed in 2000. The group emerged from the remnants of His Hero Is Gone and Deathtreat, with founding members Todd Burdette on vocals and guitar, Yannick Lorrain on guitar, and Paul Burdette on drums. After relocating to Portland, Oregon, the trio recruited Billy Davis on bass. Tragedy released their self-titled debut album Tragedy in 2001 via Skuld Releases, followed by the EP Can We Call This Life? The band's second studio album, Vengeance, was released in 2002 and received critical acclaim. In subsequent years, Tragedy released albums including Nerve Damage (2006) and Darker Days (2012). They also toured with artists such as Blowback and Neurosis and performed at festivals including Bestia Festival and Maryland Deathfest.
