TootArd, a Syrian Arabic rock band from Majdal Shams in the Golan Heights, was formed in 2010 by brothers Hasan Nakhleh and Rami Nakhleh. Their music blended Arab psychedelic rock, desert blues, and reggae, often referred to as "mountain rock reggae," inspired by their limestone mountainside hometown. The band initially performed locally before expanding their reach to Jerusalem and Europe. Their debut album, Nuri Andaburi, released in 2014, reflected the political environment of their upbringing through songs that depicted current realities and more idealistic visions of tolerance and nature. In 2017, TootArd released Laissez Passer, an album addressing the statelessness of the Druze people of the northern Golan Heights. Their third album, Migrant Birds, was released in May 2020.
